1. Who we are
Malaika Commons is a founder community based in San Francisco. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website, join, come to events, or ask us for help, and what we do with it. You can reach us any time at hello@malaikacommons.com.
2. What we collect and why

| Community | What you share in Slack, WhatsApp groups, and the member directory, so members can find and talk to each other. |

| Residency | Your membership status, shared with Launch Quarters to confirm SF Concierge access and the 5% credit. |
3. Who we share with
- The service providers named above, who help us run things.
- Investors, operators, or partners, only when you opt in to an introduction, the Showcase, or the Deal Room.
- Other members, through the member directory. You can hide your profile.
- Launch Quarters, to confirm your membership status.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics cookies to understand how people use the site. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Our site doesn't respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and membership data: while you're a member and up to 2 years after.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires.
- Event records: up to 3 years.
You can ask us to delete your data earlier.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete, or take a copy of your data, and opt out of marketing emails at any time.
California residents have the right to know what we collect, delete it, correct it, and opt out of its sale or sharing (we don't sell or share it), without being treated differently for using these rights.
If you're in the EU or UK: we process data to provide services you ask for (contract), for our legitimate interests in running the community, or with your consent. You can object, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers: your data is processed in the United States.
7. Children
Malaika Commons isn't for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, membership payments are handled by Luma, and donations by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

We'll post changes here with a new date, and email members about material changes.
